WBMD Baltimore Maryland Car Sticker
How long was WBMD Baltimore a country station? Here's their Top Gun 75 Sticker.
A neat sticker. I worked at WBMD from 1975, they had quite a following until WPOC-FM came along. Clark West was PD, Ray Davis did a bluegrass show from Johnnys Used Cards too. A great staff to work with! Tom Conroy
I remember hearing you, Tom Conroy, on air. I remember the log cabin on wheels, Smilin' Jack, and many others. What was the jingle that used "Top Gun?" Was it "Top Gun in the North -- WBMD?" Not sure I'm remembering that right.
About 1977 or 1978 Tom Conroy and I coined the station ID of "75 Country" after Clark West allowed us to better organize the playlist. I think the "Top Gun" reference dated back to the early 70s or even the 60s. It was great working with Tom. He was a class act! By the way, it was in about 1979 that WBMD changed format and was no longer Country....Ken Miller

ReplyDeleteI remember hearing "A Maiden's Prayer" by Bob Wills every evening at sine out time or sunset, on top gun 75 WBMD. Bobby Brown was a DJ.
