WBMD Baltimore Maryland Car Sticker

How long was WBMD Baltimore a country station? Here's their Top Gun 75 Sticker.

  1. A neat sticker. I worked at WBMD from 1975, they had quite a following until WPOC-FM came along. Clark West was PD, Ray Davis did a bluegrass show from Johnnys Used Cards too. A great staff to work with! Tom Conroy

  2. I remember hearing you, Tom Conroy, on air. I remember the log cabin on wheels, Smilin' Jack, and many others. What was the jingle that used "Top Gun?" Was it "Top Gun in the North -- WBMD?" Not sure I'm remembering that right.

  3. About 1977 or 1978 Tom Conroy and I coined the station ID of "75 Country" after Clark West allowed us to better organize the playlist. I think the "Top Gun" reference dated back to the early 70s or even the 60s. It was great working with Tom. He was a class act! By the way, it was in about 1979 that WBMD changed format and was no longer Country....Ken Miller

  4. I remember hearing "A Maiden's Prayer" by Bob Wills every evening at sine out time or sunset, on top gun 75 WBMD. Bobby Brown was a DJ.
